Organization bulk settings: registration, editing, and deletion
What Are Organization Settings?
Organization Settings refer to the process of registering organizational hierarchies and departments based on your organization chart. By configuring organization settings, you can view and manage survey results and activity statuses by department within Motivation Cloud. The information registered here will be reflected in Motivation Cloud Engagement and Sharing. This setting is not required for Motivation Cloud Development.
Differences Between Organization Settings and Attribute Settings
- Organization Settings: Configure departments or units that users belong to, based on the organization chart.
- Attribute Settings: Define user-specific attributes such as job title, position, or gender to reflect their roles and characteristics.
Registering an Organization
① Go to “Admin” ▶ “Organization Settings” ▶ Click “Language Settings” on the Common Admin Panel
Set the language to be used for registering organizations and attributes.
Even if you are registering in Japanese only for the first time, this setting is required.
Set Organization/Attribute Language
② Click “Bulk Settings”
③ Select the character encoding for the file to be downloaded, then click “Export configuration file”
Character Encoding
You can choose from the following character encodings:
UTF-8
A multilingual character encoding that supports platform-dependent characters and foreign languages.
Shift-JIS
A commonly used character encoding for Japanese.
Note: Using platform-dependent characters or foreign languages not supported by Shift-JIS may result in character corruption (mojibake).
④ Open the downloaded file and register the organization referring to the following manual

Organization Bulk Settings:(2nd and subsequent times): Edit the Organization list file⚠Caution
- Depending on the item being edited, it may affect other settings.
Please check the cautions for each item in the manual “Organization Bulk Settings:(2nd and subsequent times): Edit the Organization list file” before making any changes.
- Adding, editing, or deleting organizations or attributes during an Engagement Survey may affect the survey results. Be sure to review the notes in “(Add/Edit/Delete Organizations/Attributes) During Engagement Survey Implementation” before proceeding.
- Depending on the item being edited, it may affect other settings.
⑤ Click “Import File” and upload the created file
⑥ Click “Execute Bulk Settings”
⑦ Check “I have confirmed the above content” and click “Next”

If you are using Motivation Cloud Engagement If you are using “View Permission Rule Settings,” these may be affected. Click “View Permission Settings” “Grant/Update Permissions” to reflect the permissions. |
Editing and Deleting Organizations
To edit or delete an organization, modify the contents of the file downloaded in step ② and upload it.
Editable Items
Organizational Units
- Organizational Unit Code (only for new registration or deletion)
- Organizational Unit Level
- Organizational Unit Name
Departments
- Department Code (only for new registration or deletion)
- Department Name
- Parent Department Code, Parent Department

Handling CSV Import Errors
If a CSV import error occurs, an error message or error file will be displayed. Please correct the error and try importing the file again.
