Common Error Messages and How to Resolve Them
If you see one of the following error messages, please try the corresponding solution.
If "File Import Error (Row ○)" Is Displayed
This is displayed when there is a problem with the structure of the CSV file (CSV file rules).
Common Causes
・A cell contains a " (double quote)
・A line break has been entered within a cell using Alt + Enter in Excel
Steps to Resolve
①Check the cell in the row number shown in the error message.
②Check whether that cell contains a " or a line break (entered using Alt + Enter), and remove it.
③In Excel, select "Save As" and save the file with the file type set to "CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (*.csv)".
④Upload the saved file again.
This is generally not an issue when data is edited and saved using Excel. However, if you edit the CSV file directly using a text editor such as Notepad, a " (double quote) or line break may be inserted in an unintended position, which can break the structure of the file. |
If "The character encoding is incorrect." Is Displayed
This is displayed when the file's saved format is not supported by the system.
Common Causes
・The file's character encoding is something other than UTF-8 or Shift_JIS
・An Excel file, PDF, or similar file has been uploaded with only the file name extension changed to .csv
Steps to Resolve
①Download the latest CSV file from the relevant settings screen.
*Please do not use a previously downloaded file.
②Open the downloaded CSV file in Excel, and paste and edit the necessary data.
③Select "Save As", and choose "CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (*.csv)" as the file type, then save.
④Upload the saved file again.

If "There was a problem with the file, so it could not be processed correctly." Is Displayed
This is displayed when the file was not saved correctly, or when it contains data that cannot be read.
Common Causes
・The save process was interrupted while the file was being saved (e.g., Excel was closed or the PC went to sleep during saving)
・The file became corrupted while being sent or received via email or cloud storage
・The file was opened and edited before the download had finished
Steps to Resolve
①Download the latest file from the relevant settings screen.
*Please do not use a previously downloaded file.
②Open the downloaded file in Excel and re-enter the data.
③Select "Save As", and choose "CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (*.csv)" as the file type, then save.
④Upload the saved file again.
